Greetings to Pretender fans around the world from the team of Jarod’s Safe House.
We spent a lot of time pouring over the Pretender Lives Discussion Panel from the Comikaze event on November 2nd, 2013. As many of you know, I have been supporting Steve and Craig’s decision to bring The Pretender back in the manner they have and asking you all to give them a chance to show us what they have in store for us. Really listening to what they had to say during this discussion at Comikaze has strengthened that support.
I have to admit I was wary of the date changes, and to be totally honest, didn’t fully realize they were starting over from the beginning until I began reading Rebirth. Steve told me himself not to worry, and upon hearing the reasoning behind this, the decisions they’ve made DO make sense.
I have read some harsh reviews of Rebirth, and while these fans are entitled to their opinion, I feel they are disgruntled because the guys didn’t pick up the story from where ‘Island of the Haunted’ left off. Steve said in the discussion, “Cause we thought, OK let’s just do a book that’s right after ‘Island of the Haunted,’ but if we did that first it would be an encyclopedia of answers, but it also would come out in a way where you’d go like OK, really? So what’s the next book or does this story end now?” I think these very same fans, including myself and the rest of you, would be just as disgruntled and disappointed. Sure, we want answers to our questions, and as Steve and Craig also stated, we’re going to get those answers. It’s just going to be done in a different manner than we were expecting, and I couldn’t be more happy with the approach they are taking with this.
Steve and Craig never forgot the outpouring of support we gave them for The Pretender, they are very excited about this project, and I feel we owe it to them to embrace their efforts and eventually help get The Pretender where it belongs: back on our TV screens.
I’d like to take this opportunity to ask each and every one of you to hang in there and support their endeavors with returning The Pretender to us fans. Please remember how hard Steve and Craig are working to give us what we’ve been asking for; anything worth waiting for takes time. We need to have a little patience before we get our reward.
