Fan: The same was done with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with season 8 and 9 in comic book form, continuing from where the series left off.They could have "easily" written a series of novels picking up from the series and ended it as intended, and *then* done the reboot if that was so important. audone: Oh, and another thing that really ticks me off is that I see other writers who are reviving their shows and doing a much better job. Chris Carter is doing a season 10 comic book series of the X-Files that is excellent. He didn't wipe out the nine seasons of the show. He hasn't deaged the characters or replaced them. He respects the history of series and uses it. It really is like a season 10 of the show. Very enjoyable. Twin Peaks is coming back for a few episodes. They aren't doing a rebirth. They are using the original cast (as much as they can). And as far as I know, it leaves off from the series. It's not a lame rebirth. The Pretender could have been brought back. It could have been picked up after the last movie but Steve and Craig didn't to that. I can't think of another show where they creators had an opportunity like this and yet still refused to end the original storyline. It's rotten what they did to us.12/15/14 04:24 AM
audone: I think another problem is that they want everything! They have the rights to the Pretender now so they know they can make some money off of it. So if they give out the answers that they promised us, then how do they continue the Pretender? But on the other hand, they want to do other projects/shows also. I imagine they would make more money that way. So if they do other things and refuse to end the series, where does that leave the Pretender fans?!?! I would say screwed once again. I don't think they want to end the show yet they can't seem to do the work it takes to do the rebirth. Oh, I don't think they've managed to replace the fans that they lost with the rebirth concept. They made a terrible decision doing the rebirth instead of continuing the original storyline. I agree that they lost a lot of fans because of it.12/14/14 11:55 PM

At this rate, if we say that one main novel will be released every 6 months on average, I’d predict it’ll take 10 years before we’ll see an ending. Fan: They've put themselves in a jam. On one hand, they have to write the novels in a way to appease old fans since they rebooted it instead of finishing the original series off. On the other hand, they have to try and appeal to new fans (although they seem to be in a minority so far). The old fans don’t want to wait forever to get the answers they want, as they’ve already waited years. As time goes by, it’ll become more and more difficult to maintain any fans as long as it takes so long between each main novel (I couldn’t care less about the spin offs). The end result might just be that things sort of fade out over time and nothing or no progress will occur.12/13/14 03:39 AM
shadowKate: The biggest problem for me is that we don't know what's going on. If only they could say: hold on, guys, a new book is coming in ... (or news coming in a few days). But no. We were supposed to get the spin offs in fall, but unless they mean some other "fall" we have nothing and it is sad. audone: Oh, and for those that do like the rebirth books, don't count on an ending for that storyline either. I had a feeling Steve and Craig weren't completely committed to the books because they weren't coming out quickly. If they really wanted to the book series, they would have released one every six to eight months. And the graphic novels, don't count on them. They had ten pages done already and they still can't finish the first issue. Ten or twelve pages more and the first issue would have been done. Where are the spin offs? Other people are writing them so what is the hold up? Sorry, what they did to us was terrible. I'm angry and the rest of you should be too. I think it has always been about trying to create some kind of buzz so they can get another series/any series back on tv. It's disgusting.12/12/14 02:42 AM

The whole rebirth concept was disappointing and I think it drove many fans away. It did me. Some kind of ending or conclusion was needed to the original story, even it if was one book. All the answers didn't have to be given but a conclusion was necessary before the rebirth concept was started. So much for the promise that they would give the fans an ending and answers. But I think they have promised that before book #3 is out we will have the spin-off novel "Patterns" and the "Shattered Doll" novel about young Miss Parker. I'm not sure if the graphic novels or the third book will be released next. Hopefully one or both of these are released soon. Personally, I've been rather discouraged by the lack of news and activity regarding all things Pretender (I'm not dissing Jacci and others here, they do a brilliant job).12/11/14 07:36 AM

24: I want to read a fic that I've read a long time ago again. I can't remember if it was on ff.net, or missing pieces. From what I remember they caught Jarod and I think that Mr. Lyle was in charge of Jarod. Somebody from I think law enforcement maybe FBI, or CIA, or somebody else. I'm not sure if it was law enforcement place. Anyways Mr. Lyle goes with him because they need Jarod there. While he is there he meets a woman who he likes and Mr. Lyle is almost always around Jarod. The woman finds out about what he did at the Centre and I think she gets mad at him. I'm pretty sure he tells her that he was kidnapped as a child and was raised at the Centre and she wants to help him.10/05/14 06:38 AM
