August 28th, 2013 ~ And the winner is: (Drum roll please)

We have Winner!
But that's only part of the story

We are happy to announce that in a very close global race - where only 9 votes separated the winner and runner up - the worldwide fans of The Pretender chose # 1 as the cover of the first pretender novel, Rebirth.

We are also very happy to announce that it is very appropriate that the fans of The Pretender picked this cover because ...

A FAN OF THE PRETENDER DESIGNED IT!

After seeking out the artistic advice of dozens of book cover specialist and working on several concepts ourselves, the artwork for what became cover number one was sent to us secretly by a friend of this fan without her knowledge.

The art wasn’t sent to be considered as a cover but an expression of the fan’s connection to The Pretender.

Long story short, we fell in love with it at first sight and thought - let’s turn it into a cover, put it in the contest and see what happens.

The fan didn’t know her cover was going to be in the running until she went to vote and damn near had a heart attack.

Her name is Kylie and she is from Australia. Some of you know her as Kye - others as Miss K - others as Onisius - others may not know her at all - but everyone should follow and give her a shout out on Twitter - her handle is @Onisius_8.

We can’t thank you enough, Kylie, for helping to give The Pretender it’s new look.

August 27th, 2013 ~ Yikes! Mr. Lee had to be brought in ...

It’s All Up to Mr. Lee Now

The Votes for the cover of the first Pretender novel, Rebirth are in and have been sent to Mr. Lee for confirmation.

Because the vote was so extremely close, and to ensure there was no funny business, he has decided to certify and recount them all by hand.

The winner will be announced tomorrow here and at Centre Annexes around the globe.

SHARE - with the world!

July 19th, 2013 ~ The Pretender Lives! A Pretender Mission Statement and Major Announcement

Our Pretender Mission Statement

In the tale of The Pretender, Young Jarod was taken against his will and held away from the world by forces larger then he was. Yet during his captivity he never gave up hope that his fate would be freedom one day - to return to the world to continue the amazing journey we call life.

The story here is very similar. A little over a decade ago, forces larger than tP and for reasons that really don't matter, made a decision that kept the saga of tP locked away from the world – just like Jarod was.

We know loyal fans were disappointed and yes, so were we. There was so much more to tP that all of you wanted to know and that we wanted to explore.

But there is good news.

Just like Jarod who, after decades of confinement, finally escaped The Centre and ran away to be free. Well now, so has the tP itself. After being locked away for so many years, tP is finally free to return to the world and continue life's adventure.

As fate would have it, we have regained the rights to give tP the Rebirth it deserves. We can now reinvigorate tP for as long as you want - and no one can ever lock it or Jarod away again.

After thinking long and hard about the best way to bring tP back, we've come up with several different ways to reawaken our much-loved saga for both faithful fans and new fans alike.

First, tP will be reborn as a series of novels enabling us to delve much deeper into the characters' hearts, minds, souls and lives in a more revealing way that the limitations of a weekly TV series could never allow for.

Second, we'll add graphic novels to the mix, fleshing out even more provocative details of the early years of Jarod, Miss P, The Centre and much more, leading to…

Third, be it cable/broadcast TV, a Netflix model series and/or a series of Pretender feature films - tP will then be taken to a whole new level with familiar faces and new characters as well.

You have always been loyal to tP and we want you to know that we'll always be loyal to you.

The Pretender has found freedom – and an amazing journey into life is about to begin again!

The Rebirth of The Pretender will blow your mind.

July 7th, 2013 ~ Another tidbit of Pretender Project information

Pretender fan Heather @lilstrawbaby tweeted to Steven Long Mitchell and others: Oh cripe, they are really gonna skip to present day? Why, if it's a digital comic?
Steve replied: Digital comic?
Heather: that's what i read y'all were doing. *shrug*
Steve: we are? That's news to me.

So we know for sure it's not going to be a digital comic. I've also heard that it won't be in digital format (streamed on the internet). For now it's still speculation as to what they have up their sleeves...

June 26th, 2013 ~ Tweet from Andrea Parker

Andrea tweeted recently that she had spoken with Michael: I love all of you so much! I did just speak with MTW-he doesn't know any more than I do: #nothing He did tell me to send U all his love.

So Michael and Andrea don't know anything more than we do so far about the return of the Pretender. Kind of disheartening. The excitement for me is gone for now until we have something concrete to be excited about.

March 29th 2013 ~ Michael Continues to Be the Voice of Captain Atom in Young Justice

Michael has voiced Captain Atom/Nathaniel Atom for several more episodes of the Cartoon Network series: Young Justice.

"Cornered" aired January 12th, 2013
"War" aired February 9th, 2013
"Complications" aired February 16th, 2013 and
