Impressionism the play is slated to make its debut in Broadway shortly. The main attraction of the play is the comeback of two talented and well known actors on stage. They are Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen. The plot of the play revolves around a gallery owner and photojournalist meeting and mending their ravaged lives. Their co stars in the drama are Andre De Shields and Marsha Mason.
It is after a very long time that Ms. Allen will be making a return to Broadway. Earlier she charmed the viewers with her performance in The Heidi Chronicles. That was way back in 1989. Jeremy Irons also proved his mettle in acting with The Real Thing around 25 years back. He won the Oscar award for his role in Reversal of Fortune. Ms. Allen got nomination for the Academy awards thrice. The production has every possibility of becoming a visual treat. The storyline is not out of the world though.
The marketing and tourism office in New York launched a communications campaign on Friday for boosting the ticket sales in Broadway. It has been done to deal with the effects of economic turmoil. George Fertitta, the NYC and Company CEO said in his statement that the residents and tourist need more encouragement for boosting the prospect of the industry.
As a mater of fact, more than two dozen shows will be arranged in the next few months. It is after a long time that noted Tony Award winner actors Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen are returning to Broadway. The world premier of the play will take place at Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in March, 2009. However the preview performance will begin on February 28.
