Kristoffer Diaz's play, "The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity" -- a sensational hit in its Victory Gardens/Teatro Vista production last fall, is now scheduled for its New York debut at Off Broadway's Second Stage Theatre (opening May 20 for a run through June 20).
Edward Torres, who staged the play's Chicago premiere, will reprise his direction, with original Chicago cast members Desmin Borges, Usman Ally and Christian Litke on board. Cast as the title character, a professional wrestler, will be Terence Archie (recently seen in the Broadway revival of "Ragtime"), with Michael T. Weiss ("Impressionism," "The Pretender") now playing the emcee.
The Off-Broadway design team will include Chicagoans Brian Sidney Bembridge (sets), Christine Pascual (costumes), Jesse Klug (lighting) and Mikhail Fiksel (sound).
